I haven't even tried this yet and already I feel like I have no chance in hell of making Top 5000.

it was fun....for the few times I tried....was unable to micro manage 7 heroes...king dies....nothing to show for it (some coins and a few whites)....I do much better at the regular quests....but thanks for giving more quests.

You should definitely attempt to do it with heroes once or twice, at least. After a few runs through it, it's easy to get the hang of it. For extra practice, you could decide to kill the entire group before moving on, instead of just trying to take out the boss.

Around the end of the week when fast times mount up (provided there won't be further jacked up scores and ladder wipes), that's when your chances of posting will become limited. It's the same as RBR.

My first attempt I beat it with heroes, but I didn't get a high score, it isn't hard, took me 6 minutes. I was sad to see you don't get any sort of reward just for beating it, you HAVE to get a high score to get something. Unless I just missed it.

Yeah having rewards correlated with a bugged score kinda stinks

How on earth could a team do this in 10 seconds! Is there some sort of bug?

There was a second update today that was supposed to help address a bug with the scores in the mission.

Bug Fixes
Fixed a bug that inappropriately recorded some scores for Scarred Psyche.

Whether other issues will pop up is something we will see as more people invest more time in the mission.

So I just gave it a shot with heroes and I definitely don't see myself anywhere in the top 5000 as originally thought.

Oh well, it's fun... in a distraction sort of way.

Basically it's Thirsty River with Halloween costume skills. It's fun enough but I was kinda hoping the challenge mission would be a permanent fixture and part of Winds of Change.

Tried it with people and failed miserably, tried it with heroes without micro and can do runs in about 7 minutes, give or take. I wonder if it's more profitable to get 20-22 ToT bags and 700 gold ever 7 minutes or just do the Halloween quests for ToT bags.

Running the mission more than five times, doing the same things, is starting to feel incredibly grindy (kinda like snowball fights - the quests, not the PvP match) so I generally prefer festival quests (even if I repeat them, there is enough variation in each quest and the length and number of quests to make it feel fresh without the tedium setting in from repeating the challenge mission more than a few times).

It's a shame the mechanics are so simple (spike boss, run, repeat - almost no strategy, skill or even basic combat mechanics involved aside from calling a target and using the same skill as everyone else). I guess it's the way of GW players to break everything down into simple dry, static strategies to create that well oiled grinding machine.

Didn't take long for someone to figure it out.....lol...got it down to 10 seconds!
That has to be a bug. It would take much longer then that for Pawa Joko to show up.

Just want to say thank you to Shayne Hawke for getting this up so fast, truly above and beyond.

Saving the warrior boss, monk section for last seems to work the best as the guide said. Any other time I try something different Mad King dies on me.
Doing this for a straight hour get's you about 250 trick or treat bags. So yeah it's a grind fest. At least it's something we can do together. Can't stress enough how annoying it is when festival quests are made solo.
We want to play together as a community, so thank you Anet for allowing party formations.

This.
It'd be a nice permanent addition to the game, even if the mission wouldn't yield ToTs after Halloween.

And this.
Even without bugged scores, when 8-player teams get around it and polished out top scores show up, there's no reason to do this challenge other than, maybe, fun factor. With a legitimate top score around 1600, the ToT/gold reward will be really damn low, plus there's no additional reward in the end as with RBR (at least no that we know about).

It was fun but I know I will never get the high score, so no point besides some mindless fun to do it again this week. The reward system of this is kinda pointless but not everything has be be about rewards

I tried this yesterday and was rather confused - and its quite funny .
When i did this mission i had no score bar and only had foes comming down and lasted the 30 mins with no deaths and no score lol.Ok i didnt go looking for the bosses and i got no rewards - im not going to moan but i will say it was a fun .
I seemed to have real bad luck - not only did my necro ( only 2 months old ) be unable to get the uw quests after the first update but she also had probs with mission - oh well .
Nice of anet to add something different and fun.

If you think about it, remember how Rollerbeetle racing had that high score list?

Top few people got a free zippy out of it, chances are a few lucky people will get their hands on some uber rare item that'll make em rich as heck. Seems to be the trend with game festivals nowadays (not that I mind, makes things interesting to watch).
